Home of Champions Monument
The Home of Champions Monument is located in the 900 block of Farwell Street adjacent the Kootenay Savings Credit Union. The monument recognizes those who have made a significant contribution to the communities of Greater Trail in the categories of Sports, Industry and Lifestyle, or reached a significant level of achievement in a chosen field of endeavour.
The Monument was sponsored by Kootenay Savings Credit Union and was constructed in 1996. A Society has been established to select those to be honoured as a "Champion" and to organize induction ceremonies as required. The City of Trail maintains the Monument.
The Inductees
Since 1996, one hundred and four individuals, teams and organizations have had their names placed on the Monument. It is a distinct honour to be chosen for recognition on the Monument and those that are selected can be very proud of their accomplishments.
Nominations and Criteria
Nominations for recognition on the Monument may be obtained at Trail City Hall, or download our printable nomination form
Criteria is in place for acceptance of the nomination and nominators should familiarize themselves with the requirements to ensure the nominee is eligible before submitting the nomination
The nomination should be forwarded to the Society c/o Trail City Hall, 1394 Pine Avenue, Trail, BC V1R 4E6.
A minimum of five nominations must be accepted before an induction ceremony will be held. Nominations should be received by May 15th in any year to be eligible for that year's ceremony. Those received after that date will be considered for the following year.
